This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This is a private reference site. It cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice. Each of those belongs with the sheriff's office or the issuing court.
Need Official Warrant Information?
These are the routes most people in this county need. Match the question to the office before you call, because no single agency here handles every warrant question.
- Whether a warrant exists: the 79th District Court at (231) 873-4530 for traffic, ordinance, and misdemeanor files, or the 51st Circuit Court records office at (231) 873-3977 for felony, family, and juvenile files
- A bench warrant for a missed date: the court that set the case, since that judge issued the warrant and controls the recall
- Custody or a bond payment: the Oceana County Jail at (231) 873-3967, reachable through the sheriff's office at 216 Lincoln Street
- Support enforcement: the Friend of the Court at (231) 873-4605 and the state support portal it links
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court, working through a recall, an appearance, or a bond
The sheriff's office is the local law-enforcement contact and the agency that serves process, and its public site does not publish a warrant list or a dedicated warrant line. Reach the main office at 216 Lincoln Street, Hart, MI 49420, (231) 873-2121, with a front lobby open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. For a non-emergency police response, the county directs callers to Central Dispatch at (231) 869-5858, which answers around the clock.
Court counters keep different hours from the sheriff's lobby. The 79th District Court sits at 100 S. State Street, Suite L-15, Hart, MI 49420 and answers (231) 873-4530 on weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM. The 51st Circuit Court records office is in the same building at Suite M-10, answers (231) 873-3977 on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and runs written record searches at $5 per name. Juvenile matters use (231) 873-3811.
For county records that are not court files, the FOIA coordinator can be reached at 100 S. State Street, Suite M-4, Hart, MI 49420, (231) 873-4835, or tbyard@oceana.mi.us. The county generally answers a written request within five business days and may take one extension of up to 10 business days. Court files are requested from the court, not through this route.
